The MRSBC was established in 1957 to promote the use of all classes of power boats, and to provide the boating community of Melbourne with a safe, friendly venue for boat racing, social skiing and tournament skiing, including slalom, tricks, jumping and knee boarding and wakeboarding.
The MRSBC is one of the largest boat clubs in Victoria with over 250 members and assets in excess of $1,000,000. The MRSBC is affiliated with the Australian Power Boat Association (APBA), the Victorian Water Ski Association (VWSA), and the Australian Water Ski Association (AWSA) and is an associate member of the Boating Industry of Australia (BIA).
As a result of "Member Only" access to the weir, the club has an enviable safety record, making it the perfect place for budding young skiers and racing enthusiasts to develop their skills. The club is very proud of its safety record, and is committed to maintaining it by insisting that all members comply with both the State Boating Regulations and Club Rules.
Boat enthusiasts wishing to enter can apply for membership.
The MRSBC provides facility access to community and charity groups on request.
